Crowley Files Expert Testimony in Florida

CA Energy Consulting expert Nick Crowley provided Chesapeake Utilities (d/b/a Florida Public Utilities Company) with an independent cost of capital study and accompanying testimony for its August 2024 rate application. The analysis included selecting a proxy group of utilities according to well-defined criteria and implemented four methods for estimating the cost of capital: the Capital Asset Pricing Model (“CAPM”), Discounted Cash Flow (“DCF”), bond yield plus risk premium, and historical returns methods. The project also assessed the Company’s capital structure and cost of debt.
